Running is a popular activity, spreading rapidly around the world including Thailand. There are now many running events in various locations around Thailand; Bangkok, Khon Kaen, Phuket, Chiang Mai and Pattaya, and now Nong Khai. The Redemptorist Foundation for People with Disabilities in establishing a vocational school for people with disabilities in Nong Khai, and the 1st Nong Khai Charity Marathon is planned as a fund raising event. This event is set to become part of the annual activities in Nong Khai, taking place on the last Sunday in May.
