Divers' Bodies Found in The Similian Islands

Search teams have recovered the bodies of 5 foreign tourists from inside a dive boat that sank three days ago off Thailand's south-western coast.

The search is continuing for a Thai national. The body of an Austrian woman was found on Tuesday.

The boat was returning from a dive trip near the Similan islands in the Andaman Sea when it capsized during a storm.

The Thai navy said the other twenty three passengers were rescued shortly after the boat sank.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Officials said the foreign victims were 2 Swiss nationals, 2 Austrians, 1 Japanese and a German citizen.

The missing Thai national was the boat's cook.

Police identified the Austrian woman whose body was discovered on Tuesday as 51-year-old Gabriele Jetzinger.

The Similan islands are located in the Andaman Sea about 120km (75 miles) north-west of Phuket - one of Thailand's top tourist destinations.
