Farmers Demand Government Intervention to Resolve 17.5 Billion Baht Farm Debt
The Farmers' Debt Network of Thailand on Tuesday held a rally at the Royal Plaza to call attention to the problem of farm insolvency.
The network has demanded the government to instruct the Farmers' Development and Rehabilitation Fund to intervene and repay Bt17.5 billion in farm loans owed by insolvent farmers in 60 provinces.
It has also threatened to move its rally site to the front of Government House if the government fails to heed its demand.
