Nong Khai Marathon
Running is a popular activity, spreading rapidly around the world including Thailand. There are now many running events in various locations around Thailand; Bangkok, Khon Kaen, Phuket, Chiang Mai and Pattaya, and now Nong Khai. The Redemptorist Foundation for People with Disabilities in establishing a vocational school for people with disabilities in Nong Khai, and the 1st Nong Khai Charity Marathon is planned as a fund raising event. This event is set to become part of the annual activities in Nong Khai, taking place on the last Sunday in May.
OBJECTIVES ; Encouraging people to participate in exercise to help promote a healthier lifestyle. The promotion of Nong Khai as a tourist destination. To raise funds for the planned Redemptorist Vocational School for People with Disabilities Nong Khai.
All races will start and finish at the Naga Fountain Yard, located in the center of Nong Khai city. A loop course travels along the Mekong River, past tourist attractions and through the countryside of Nong Khai province.
