Phayao Plans Aquarium
The provincial administration of Phayao plans a public park complete with the largest aquarium for freshwater fish in northern Thailand, a research centre and a giant bird cage 12.5 metres tall.
Located next to Phayao Lake in Muang district of the province, Suan Chalerm Phrakiat - as the park will be called - will formally open to the public in 2012 as part of celebrations to commemorate His Majesty the King's 85th birthday that year.
Construction starts next month and it is expected to cost 450 million baht.
